Well, actually... When I realized AvidGamers 1 was dying, I thought of proposing this earlier, but I didn't. I've got a server of my own, which I can do anything I want with. I could, if you want, host Assia there, and see if I could figure out how to make boards, otherwise they would be linked to here or something. Which means, you could have all the pages, the layout.. Just the link to the forum would go here. Or if I figure out how to make boards, the link would go to a boards page. And the link would have to be transformed from whatever it would be to something .tk because otherwise it wouldn't look good. >_>;
Just an offer.
Contact? Email; mozzarellan@hotmail.com you find me easiest there.
I'm Neo/Morana btw.

Oooh. I think that'd be awesome. Have the main ASSIA site, and this as the forums.

I'm glad you decided to post your idea Morana!! <3 -loves her Morana-
I think that's an AMAZING idea, and if you can figure out how to make boards, even better!

The thing is though I'm not sure how to make things as Account Setup work either :/ So I guess I'd have to do a lot of coding research to find a way to make an automatic update thing (like AG/AR has) and if I figure out how to do it, I'd be able to do boards to. Kind of. oO; And, I'd have to make some limited access account the admins could use to update the site o: I don't wanna give you the full access to the site.. -grumbles- well, if you decide you like the idea, I'll just figure everything out ^_^

It sounded like a good idea. Until you said that last part.
"I don't wanna give you the full access to the site.. -grumbles-"
No offense, but it sounds like you're trying to weasel your way into being an Assian admin.

That sounds awesome, but: And, I'd have to make some limited access account the admins could use to update the site o: I don't wanna give you the full access to the site.. -grumbles- That wouldn't work for obvious reasons. As Tori said, that's horse shi.t.

My opinion is that we move Assia to AR for good. It would better to have the forums and everything all in one location, besides the coding is already all there. We just need to customize it and put up a layout. It's not that expensive to get a subscription there to allow all our members to join. And with so many dedicated members, I doubt finding donations should be too big a deal especially since it is so inexpensive for a lot of people to sponser a site.
I agree with not hosting with Neo, no offense girl you know I love you. <3 But the Admins need to be allowed to have full access on the site. It is their duty to maintain it and it does sound like you'd like to become an Admin as reward for sponsering Assia. Bribing is not acceptable in most situations.

I just went on acornrack to look, and it's only three dollars a month to have the professional plan. But Perfe has a good idea -- we should set up a donation page for Assians to donate if they wish or something. It'd made things so much easier.

Don't give me the credit for the idea. xD I know a lot of sites do it, JACFC for example, and most of them reap success with it. And since Assia hasn't had any more than...400 members I'm guessing at a time? Professional gives us more than enough. *dances* I can't wait to start roleplaying my horses again. xD

Tori?
*hears name being mentioned and stirs slightly*
Oh yes, I did say something about that. Something along the lines of us not having control sucking, especially for Mel since she is the site's actual creator.
*mumbles something else; has just woken up and is in a blur*
I vote AR or AG2. I will help pay, for a time. But that way, we can be on a site where people are going to FIND us, join and create horses. We can't survive off 1/10 of Assia's actual population. And that way, the admins can have control over the site. No offense, Neo, but that just sounds like you don't trust any of us and Mel especially should have control over her own site.
My two cents, not like it matters. I won't be around to see it happen, I doubt.

I wouldn't go AG2. It's fairly overpriced (10 bucks a month or something for a layout?), whereas Acornrack is only 3 bucks.

I suppose it'd be useless to argue at this point? ;3 Besides, i'm fine with AR. But i'd refuse to return to AG. Frankly, I don't trust them. =|

*shrugs* Argue away. Like I said, I'm not sticking around much longer anyway. Not anything against you guys, but I know I won't have time when I'm in DC. At least, I presume I won't.
But AR is fine by me. Personally, I don't trust AG2 either. The only reason I suggested it was because somewhere, I think it may have been Splash suggested something about it because it was as cheap as AR or something. Maybe I'm wrong. And I hear the coding on AR is quite tough, but I'm sure there is nothing that we as a team cannot handle. Not the admins, mind you, but ALL of us as a team.
If you have an argument, you're free to post it. Not all of the admins have seen this and posted and ultimately, I think Mel should have the highest say. She created Assia, she ran Assia and she basically kept it alive, with our help. If she doesn't mind not having power over her own site, then maybe it's worth considering. If she wants herself and/or the admins to be able to control the site, then we should take her desire into strong consideration. That's my thought, as it's always been from day one. Mel reigns; I bow and kiss her feet.

Well, I'm not in the mood to raise big paragraphs about things today, so I will keep it short and sweet.
AR coding is, from what I can tell, very similar to AG1. I had a site there once and used a layout coded for AG, I had to tweak a bit but other then that it was fine.
AR is much better then anything else, I say let's move there.
And on the whole thing about Neo owning the site blah blah, it should have full access to Mel, after all, she created it, it was her original idea. Therefore, she should have ultimate access, and with AR she would. I can understand you wanting control over your own site, but then again, that sounds like you don't trust the Assian Admins, or you have in the mind to become one yourself with bribery.

I'm not a big AR fan. I Admined a site there, hated it. It was really complex, and made me want to smash my head against a wall. Multiple times.
AG2 definitely isn't $10 a month. xD It's between $3 and $5, same as AR. ag2.avidgamers.com/article.o829950.htmlI'm kinda partial to AG, but if you guys don't like it, I'm game for anything, as long as we can get things running again.
A agree with the rest of you about Neo's site. Great idea, but I don't like that we wouldn't get full access to the site. It would be a nice, charitable thing to do to donate the domain, but Assia was created by Mel, and I agree- she should have the biggest portion of control. The AAT has always run as a round-table democracy (with Mel unwillingly standing on the table xD), and I'm afraid that having a third party would throw it all off balance.
Just my two cents.
